Fondazione Mondo Digitale is a private-law body with non-profit legal personality. The Foundation has been founded in 2001 through a public-private partnership between the Municipality of Rome and 6 large ICT companies: Engineering Ingegneria Informatica spa; Unidata; Intel Corporation Italia spa; Unysis spa; Wind Telecomunicazioni spa; Elea. FMD holds a capital and management autonomy. The Articles of Association sets the regulations of the organization and activities. FMD headquarters are located at “Città Educativa” in Rome, a public center of best practices and social innovation for schools managed by FMD. The bodies of the Foundation are: the president; the board of directors; the general director; the supervisory committee; the assembly of the founding members; the board of participants.
