Atos Research & Innovation (ARI) is the research, development and innovation hub of ATOS and it is a key reference for the whole Atos group. Thanks to its large expertise in R&D&I ARI not only leverages research on new technologies inside the Atos group, but also brings research outcomes to customers, introducing innovative approaches, methodologies and tools in their business processes. ARI focuses on project accomplishment, combining economic exploitation of research results with the most up-to-date technological developments and high awareness of human factors, such as education sciences, disability-related issues, cultural diversity, and multilingualism.

In 2001, ATOS defined a line of activity focused on the use of ICTs in the public administration Public Administration sector (PA) has now more than 10 years of experience in realizing R&D project. As part of this sector, the Technology Enhanced Learning team focuses on research and development activities related to technological support to learning processes in all educational levels. Some of our main topics of interests are learning personalization and adaptation, accessibility, learning analytics, Game-based learning, and instructional design. We are being involved in more than 15 European funded projects in the last years and some projects relevant to this proposal as listed below.

Given the nature of MaTHiSiS, the Technology Enhanced Learning team will be supported by the Media Lab which brings its expertise in state of the art streaming technology building from the R&D activity and their technology transfer into the streaming solutions of Vancouver Winter Olympic Games 2010 for Spain (in partnership with the main Spanish public TV, RTVE), the world broadcasting of the London Paralympics Games for the International Paralympics Committee, and together with MSL on behalf of Olympic Broadcast Services, stream the Sochi Winter Olympic Games 2014 for 51 countries for several roadcasters. Media Lab brings also its expertise in real-time analysis of Social Networks using technologies as Map Reduce and MongoDB databases in order to extract and filter the important information items, and determine the trending topics and social tendencies in real-time.
